Last updated: July 19, 2026. Model United Nations Liberia (“MUN-Liberia,” “we,” or “us”) is a non-profit youth organization. Criminals sometimes impersonate charities and conferences to steal money or personal data. This page explains how to stay safe.
Official channels only
Trust application links, payment instructions, and volunteer requests only when they are published through our verified channels:
- The official pages you host for MUN-Liberia (this site) and any future domain name we publicly announce
- Our official Linktree profile
- Email from [email protected] (we do not conduct official financial transactions over informal personal accounts)
Red flags
- Someone asks you to send registration fees, “visa fees,” or donations to a personal mobile money account, cryptocurrency wallet, or unrelated company name.
- Pressure to pay immediately, secrecy (“do not tell your parents or school”), or threats that you will lose your seat if you do not pay within minutes.
- Unsolicited messages from strangers claiming to be our “Executive Director” or “finance team” from a random email address or WhatsApp number not listed on our official contact page.
- Requests for passwords, banking PINs, national ID photos without a clear, documented purpose tied to a published program.
What you should do
- Compare any payment request against the official announcement for that program.
- When in doubt, stop and contact us through the contact page or email [email protected] before sending money or documents.
- Report suspected impersonation to us and, where appropriate, to local law enforcement or your bank’s fraud hotline.
